Xiaochun Sharon Yang

Dr. Yang is certified in American Board of Internal Medicine, the Doctor for Adults, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physician (FACP), “FACP is an honor achieved by those recognized by their peers for personal integrity, superior competence in internal medicine, professional accomplishment, and demonstrated scholarship.” (Quote from ACP publisher).
Dr. Yang completed her Internal Medicine resident training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University in 2000 and became Board certified in Internal Medicine in the same year. She subsequently went for Geriatric Fellowship training at the State University of Connecticut, and Board certified for Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine in 2001. During these years training, she has had well-rounded exposure to variety conditions in Internal Medicine. Prior to open her practice here, she was an Assistant Professor of Medicine at UConn Health Center, and an attending physician at Leisure World Medical Center and Montgomery General Hospital. During her career in clinical practice and academic medicine, she has developed holistic approach for patient care. She is highly weights the importance of patient education, life style intervention, and disease prevention. She has been always interested to learn and update her medical knowledge to provide high quality of patient care.
In addition, Dr. Yang has been actively participating multiple community health promotions, including volunteering at one of Montgomery free clinic for low income or uninsured people since 2005.
